Tony Tony Chopper ate the Human-Human Fruit, which left him somewhere between reindeer and person: he talks, he walks upright when he feels like it, and he is a competent physician. The herd drove him out over the blue nose and the humans ran from the talking deer, so he was raised by a quack and then trained by a surgeon who claims to be a hundred and thirty-nine.
He is the ship's doctor and he takes the job seriously. He carries his own drug, the Rumble Ball, which reshuffles his transformations for three minutes and hurts him badly if he takes another too soon. Most of his fights begin with him being frightened. He has them anyway, because the alternative is a patient he cannot treat afterwards.
Chopper is also the crew's emotional load-bearing wall. Praise him and he wriggles, calls you a jerk and fails to stop smiling, a bit Oda has run for over twenty years without wearing it out. The cherry blossom ending of the arc he is introduced in remains one of the most reliably devastating sequences in One Piece, and it is about a doctor who lied.
Spelling CHOPPER
CHOPPER is seven letters with a doubled P, and the full name is Tony Tony Chopper, so the game wants the last part rather than either TONY. The CH opening is English rather than Japanese. The kana marks that double P with a small tsu, the same character that doubles the consonant in USOPP, so the two names fail in exactly the same way if you type by ear.
