Monkey D. Garp fought Gol D. Roger to a standstill more than once, which in this world puts him in a category of about five people. He fights with his fists and with cannonballs he throws by hand. The Marines call him Garp the Fist, and he has spent a career refusing the rank of admiral on the grounds that the paperwork would keep him indoors.
The family is the problem. His son runs the Revolutionary Army, which exists to overthrow the government Garp serves, and his grandson is a pirate with a bounty that keeps climbing. Garp's response to all of this is to keep visiting, keep laughing and keep hitting Luffy on the head hard enough to leave a dent. He trained the boy for the Marines. It did not take.
Oda uses him for one of the series' better tricks: introduce an old man who eats rice crackers and falls asleep mid-sentence, then show the reader a wall he punched through. He also raised Koby into the navy's most promising recruit, so the same man is responsible for one of its best young officers and for its most wanted crew.
Spelling GARP
GARP is four letters, the shortest answer One Piece offers here, and the game wants this part rather than the family name Monkey that he shares with Luffy. There is no Japanese trap: the kana holds a long A that English drops without complaint. One vowel, three consonants, and the P at the end is the letter guessers forget to spend a turn on.
