Dracule Mihawk holds the title Zoro wants, which makes him the finish line of a plot that has been running since the series' first month. He carries Yoru, a black blade nearly as long as he is tall, and a small cross-shaped knife on a necklace that he uses when the big one would be impolite. The stare is why they call him Hawk Eyes.
His first appearance is a demonstration rather than a fight. He splits a pirate fleet apart because he happened to be following it out of boredom, meets Zoro, beats him using the necklace knife, and tells him to go and grow. He then does very little for years of story, which is a deliberate choice: a character already at the top has nowhere to go until somebody climbs up.
Later he takes a seat among the Seven Warlords and spends two years training the man he defeated, on an island he shares with a monkey population and a woman with a wine cellar. The name Dracule and the high collar point straight at Dracula, which is roughly the register the character plays in: courteous, bored and lethal.
Spelling MIHAWK
MIHAWK is six letters and looks English because the spelling is a translation choice. The Japanese stretches the second vowel into Mihooku, with a long O the tiles refuse, and the game asks for this half rather than Dracule. The W is the letter that wins the row, since guesses rarely spend an early turn on one and almost nothing else here needs it.
