Nobita is a fourth-grader who fails tests, loses fights, forgets homework and gets caught doing all three. His descendants calculate that this trajectory ends in debt for everybody downstream, so they post Doraemon to his bedroom as a corrective. The comedy runs on the fact that the corrective rarely works. Nobita begs for a gadget, uses it for revenge or laziness, and the story collects the bill before the last panel.
He is not a blank. Fujiko F. Fujio gave him two genuine skills, both useless at school: he can fall asleep within seconds of lying down, and he is a startlingly good shot. He is also the only character who reliably notices when someone is being bullied, an animal is hurt, or a stranger needs help, which is the trait the longer film stories hang their plots on.
The name is a small joke about hope. It comes from 伸びる, nobiru, to grow or to stretch, and his father picked it wanting a son who would keep growing. Whether that lands depends on which chapter you read. Shizuka tolerates him, Gian bullies him, Suneo brags at him, and the four of them have been in a vacant lot with three concrete pipes since 1969.
Spelling NOBITA
The game wants the given name, so it is NOBITA rather than the family name Nobi. Six letters in three clean beats, no-bi-ta, consonant and vowel alternating the whole way with no long vowels, no doubled letters and nothing lost in romanisation. There is no trap here at all. Get any two positions and the shape of the row does the rest.
