Sabo grew up in the same forest as Luffy and Ace, the son of nobles who wanted a title more than a child, and he ran off to live among thieves rather than be traded for one. The three boys swapped cups of sake and became brothers. Then Sabo left on a small boat, and a Celestial Dragon shot it out of the water for being in the way.
He survives with no memory of who he was, is raised by the Revolutionary Army, and grows into its chief of staff. The memory comes back at the worst possible moment, when a newspaper tells him what happened to Ace. He resurfaces carrying the same steel pipe he fought with as a ten-year-old, a weapon choice with nothing practical whatsoever to recommend it.
He also inherits the Flame-Flame Fruit, so his brother's fire belongs to him now, and he brings it to countries where the crew's plans keep needing an extra pair of hands. His job puts him directly against the world government, which is the half of the world Luffy generally ignores until it lands on him.
Spelling SABO
SABO is four letters, and the temptation is to read it as English and add an E or a T. It is a straight Japanese reading, sa-bo, two kana, nothing lengthened. The game wants the whole name, since no family name is in use for him. Two vowels, two consonants, and the O at the end is the position most guesses waste.
