Itachi Uchiha captained a squad in the village's black-ops division before most children finish school, awakened the Sharingan young, and was widely considered the best his clan had produced. Then the Uchiha were found dead in one night, with his younger brother Sasuke alive and instructed to hate him. He walked into the Akatsuki, and the series treats him as a monster for a long stretch.
His techniques are all built on the eye. Tsukuyomi traps a target in an illusion where he controls the passage of time, Amaterasu sets black fire on whatever he looks at, and Susanoo wraps him in a giant spectral warrior. They cost him. Every use of the Mangekyo Sharingan damages his sight, and he is visibly ill through most of his screen time.
What Kishimoto does with him later reframes most of what the reader thinks about the Uchiha, and the fandom has been arguing about whether it holds up ever since. Even the name is a warning: 鼬 means weasel, an animal Japanese folklore casts as a trickster and a bad omen. His finger-poke to Sasuke's forehead is the softest gesture in the series.
Spelling ITACHI
ITACHI is six letters with an I at both ends and CH in the middle, which is one Japanese character, chi. Three beats: i-ta-chi. The game wants the given name rather than UCHIHA, and the two words share four letters, so even a wrong guess between them turns tiles yellow and narrows the row.
