Seto Kaiba inherited KaibaCorp by out-manoeuvring the man who adopted him, converted it from weapons to gaming hardware, and built the holographic duel arenas the rest of the series takes for granted. Anything he needs, he funds. His answer to losing a tournament is usually to construct a satellite, an island, or a virtual world in which the rematch will go differently.

The deck is three Blue-Eyes White Dragons, and getting the third involved tearing up a fourth card in front of its elderly owner, which the manga presents as exactly as ugly as it sounds. He mellows unevenly. The one consistent decency is his younger brother Mokuba, and everyone in the cast knows that hurting Mokuba is how you make Kaiba genuinely dangerous.

He also spends the later arcs refusing to believe in the magic happening in front of him, which is very funny in a show where ancient Egyptian spirits are a plot mechanism rather than a metaphor. Kaiba loses a lot for a rival. He simply refuses to update, and the series admires him for it.

Spelling KAIBA

KAIBA is five letters and Otakana wants the family name, not Seto. The AI in the middle is one glide rather than two beats, so it reads kai-ba in two syllables. Watch the single B, since the double consonant instinct is strong here. Two A's, at the second and fifth positions, which is a useful frame once either lands.
