Orihime Inoue starts Bleach as the cheerful classmate with the strange lunches, the one who puts butter in her tea and means it. Her power surfaces after a Hollow attack, and it comes out of two flower-shaped hairpins her brother gave her. Six small spirits live in them, and together they can raise a shield, cut, or restore, though restore is a misleading word for what actually occurs.

Soten Kisshun rejects an event. Rather than knitting a wound closed, it refuses the part of reality where the wound was inflicted and returns matter to the state it held before. That includes damage nobody else in the setting can repair, which is why characters who study power for a living find her frightening rather than useful, and why she keeps getting kidnapped by people who want to borrow it.

Tite Kubo names her after Orihime, the weaver princess of the Tanabata legend, kept apart from her love across the Milky Way and allowed one meeting a year. For a character whose story is mostly about standing at a distance from Ichigo Kurosaki, the choice was not subtle and did not need to be.

Spelling ORIHIME

ORIHIME is the given name, seven letters, and the family name Inoue is not the answer. The word 織姫 means weaving princess and belongs to the star Vega in the Tanabata story. Spell it in four beats, o-ri-hi-me, and notice the two I's sitting in third and fifth position. If you have one I placed, try the other slot before anything else.
