The Rasengan is chakra compressed into a ball and spun in every direction at once, held in an open palm and driven into whatever it touches. Minato Namikaze built it after studying a Tailed Beast Bomb, worked on it for three years, and died before finishing the part he actually cared about. He had meant to add a nature element to it. Nobody managed that until his son did.
Naruto learns it from Jiraiya in three stages, each taught with a prop. A water balloon teaches rotation, since the only way to burst it is to spin the water inside. A rubber ball teaches raw power, because it has no seam to exploit. A plain balloon teaches restraint: hold the shape without popping the skin. Doing all three in one hand at the same time is the technique.
The name is 螺旋丸, spiral and sphere, and it stays a spiral in every later form. Wind Release sharpens it into the Rasenshuriken. Chakra borrowed from shadow clones inflates it to the size of a house. Over 700 chapters it became the move the story reaches for whenever an argument needs ending, which is roughly the job the Kamehameha does one franchise over.
Spelling RASENGAN
Eight letters, RASENGAN, and the middle syllable is the one that goes wrong. It is SEN, not SAN or ZEN, and there is a single S. Say it in three beats, ra-sen-gan, and the tiles fall in order. Once the first three letters are green the rest is close to guessable.
