Riza Hawkeye shoots better than anyone else in the story and says less than almost anyone in it. She serves under Roy Mustang, follows him through every posting, and has told him plainly that she will shoot him herself if he strays from what he promised. That is not a threat between enemies. It is the arrangement the two of them agreed on.
Her father researched flame alchemy and, trusting no paper with the finished work, tattooed the completed array across his daughter's back. Riza carried it, showed it to Mustang, and later asked him to burn part of it away so nobody else could ever read it. Most of what the series says about inheritance is in that sequence.
In the field she works from rooftops with a rifle and up close with two pistols, and her dog Black Hayate is the only thing that reliably makes her smile. Arakawa keeps her competent without making her cold, which is a harder balance than the character type usually gets. Fumiko Orikasa voices her in Brotherhood.
Spelling RIZA
RIZA is four letters and the game wants the given name rather than Hawkeye. The Z is the trap and the gift at once: the Japanese is リザ, and English speakers hearing it reach for LISA or RISA, both of which are wrong. Remember the R at the front too, since katakana draws no line between R and L.
