Everyone calls him Mob, the Japanese word for a background extra, which is exactly how he would like to be treated.

Shigeo Kageyama is a middle schooler with a flat expression, no social ease, and psychic strength that frightens every other esper who meets him. He does not want to fight anybody. He wants to be popular with a girl in his class and get slightly fitter, so he joined the Body Improvement Club, where he does push-ups with sincere effort and no ability at all.
The counter in the title is his. Emotion builds towards a hundred percent, and when it arrives the power comes out shaped by whatever the feeling was: rage, embarrassment, gratitude, courage. Mob has spent years bottling everything to keep that from happening, which is the actual subject of the series. His teacher's advice is that suppressing feelings is not the same as handling them.
ONE wrote him as the opposite of a power fantasy. Mob is stronger than everyone and it solves nothing he cares about, so the plot rewards him for talking to people, joining clubs and apologising. Bones animated the series in 2016 and 2019, changing visual technique almost every episode, and the animation gets loudest exactly when Mob's face stays still.
Spelling SHIGEO
SHIGEO is the given name, and the game wants it rather than Kageyama or the nickname Mob. Six letters, three of them vowels, running I, E and O around a SH and a G. The first sound is SHI, never SI, because Japanese has no si. Three beats, shi-ge-o, and the row fills quickly once one vowel lands.
