Kamina declares things and then makes them true. He decides an underground village should reach the surface, so it does. He decides a stolen face-shaped machine belongs to him, so it does. The pointed sunglasses, the cape and the permanent shouting are a costume he built for the person he intends to become, and Gurren Lagann treats that self-invention as the real superpower.
The famous line, believe in the me that believes in you, sounds like nonsense and functions as a strategy. Simon is the better pilot and the worse person to be, and Kamina's whole method is loaning confidence to somebody who has none of his own. Gainax animated the series in 2007 with Hiroyuki Imaishi directing and Kazuki Nakashima writing.
What he is not is invulnerable, and the show's reputation rests on how early it makes that clear. Twenty seven episodes is not long, and Kamina shapes far more of them than his screen time accounts for. Katsuyuki Konishi shouts nearly every line of the Japanese performance without ever wearing the joke out.
Spelling KAMINA
KAMINA is six letters alternating consonant and vowel the whole way, ka-mi-na, so placing any two usually gives you the pattern for the rest. There is no romanisation trap: no long vowels, no doubled consonants, nothing English trims off. Watch the middle vowel, which is an I rather than an E despite what the sound suggests.
