Maki Zenin has almost no cursed energy, which in the Zenin clan makes her furniture. Her family told her so, repeatedly, and she left to enrol at Jujutsu High instead. What she does have is a body under Heavenly Restriction, the trade that strips a person's cursed energy and pays it back in physical ability, and a willingness to train past the point of reason.
Since she cannot spend cursed energy, she borrows it from her weapons. Cursed tools carry their own charge, so Maki fights with a polearm, a katana, a chained scythe, whatever the school armoury holds, and she is better with all of them than the students who never needed to be. Her glasses let her see curses at all, which is why they matter.
Her twin sister Mai stayed in the clan and took the opposite view of it, and the two of them argue about that in nearly every scene they share. Maki's ambition is stated early and pursued without decoration: become strong enough that the family that discarded her has to look up.
Spelling MAKI
MAKI is four letters and the game takes the given name, since the family name Zenin belongs to a clan rather than a person. Two consonants, two vowels, alternating. Watch the last letter. Her twin is Mai, one letter shorter and a syllable apart, and MAKO and MAKA are both real anime answers of the same length.
