Megumi Fushiguro inherited the Ten Shadows Technique, which turns his own shadow into a container. He makes a shape with his hands, the shadow opens, and something walks out: a pair of white divine dogs, a toad, an owl called Nue, a snake, an elephant that arrives with a flood of water. Each shikigami has to be defeated once before he can use it.
His father sold him to the Zenin clan as a child and left. Gojo intervened, and Megumi grew up sharp, quiet and rigidly principled, a boy who states plainly that he does not care about being fair. He wants good people to end up with more than they started with, and he is prepared to be unpleasant about the arithmetic.
He is the reason Yuji is at the school at all: Gojo sent him to investigate the cursed object, and he found a first-year who had already swallowed it. Megumi plays the straight man to Yuji's enthusiasm and Nobara's provocations, which in a three-person team is a full-time job with no overtime.
Spelling MEGUMI
MEGUMI is the given name; the family name Fushiguro is longer and not what the row wants. Six letters, three of them vowels, and the E, U and I never repeat, which makes it awkward to guess and easy to confirm. In Japanese the name means blessing and is far more often given to girls, which is a deliberate choice on Akutami's part.
