Mikasa Ackerman graduated first in the 104th and the gap to second place was not close. She had an ordinary childhood until abruptly she did not, and Eren pulled her out of the worst day of it, which is why she has organised her life around keeping him inside her field of view. The show is clear that this began as a survival response rather than a romance.
The red scarf is the thing he wrapped around her that day. She wears it into every battle for a decade of story, and the animators use it as a tell: pulled up over her mouth she is fine, hanging loose means something has gone wrong. Very few pieces of costume in anime are asked to do that much work, and almost none manage it this quietly.
The Ackerman name explains the rest. Her family carries something inherited that lets a body reach strength it has no business reaching, which is the in-world reason she and Levi fight the way they do. It also made them a target long before she was born. Her parents were killed for what she is as much as for anything they ever did.
Spelling MIKASA
MIKASA is six letters and three syllables, mi-ka-sa, every one of them a consonant followed by an A. That pattern is the gift here: land one A and you very probably have all three. Japanese writes it with no long vowels and nothing to drop, so the transcription is exact. ACKERMAN is the harder word by some distance, and the game does not ask for it.
