Mitsuri Kanroji is the Love Hashira, and her body is a genuine oddity even by this series' standards: muscle fibre several times denser than a normal person's, which is why she eats enormous amounts and why nobody at a marriage meeting knew what to do with her. Her hair went pink and green from a childhood diet of sakura mochi, a detail the manga states plainly and never revisits.
Her blade matches her. The nichirin sword she carries is whip-thin and flexible, closer to a ribbon than a katana, and almost nobody else in the corps can hold it without cutting themselves apart. Love Breathing is her own invention, derived from Flame Breathing after she trained under Rengoku, which is why her forms swing wide and warm rather than cutting straight.
She joined to find a husband stronger than herself, states this openly, and everyone treats it as reasonable. Underneath the blushing is somebody who walked away from the life she was told to want and found colleagues who were relieved she could bench a horse. Gotouge tends to write his Hashira as damaged. Mitsuri is the one who mostly just needed better company.
Spelling MITSURI
MITSURI is seven letters for four kana, because TSU spends three letters on a single sound, つ. It is the same trap that catches ZENITSU. Say it mi-tsu-ri and the row falls into place. Otakana wants the given name rather than Kanroji, and the vowels run i, u, i, so a confirmed I is worth two positions.
