Nobara Kugisaki fights with a straw doll, a box of cursed nails and a claw hammer. She nails a piece of the target to the doll, hits the doll, and the damage travels. The resonance version is worse for everyone involved, including her, and she uses it anyway. Her range is real but her preference is close enough to shout.
She grew up in a village she describes with open contempt and moved to the city with a clear budget for clothes and no interest in being told what a girl from the sticks should want. The first thing she does in Tokyo is go shopping. The second is threaten a classmate. Both are consistent positions rather than a contradiction.
With Yuji and Megumi she forms the first-year team, and she is the member most likely to say the cruel accurate thing out loud. Her stated goal is to remain exactly herself in a city built to file that down, which she repeats in her worst moments and mostly manages.

NOBARA is the given name and it means wild rose. Six letters with A twice, at positions four and six, and a single O. Her family name is the one that fits her job, since it opens with the word for nail, but the game does not want it. Lock the two A's and NOBARA finishes itself.
