Sango was raised in a village of demon slayers, ordinary humans who hunted demons with tools, poison and training rather than with magic. Naraku arranged for that village to be destroyed and for her younger brother Kohaku to do part of the killing while under his control. She survives it, learns who arranged it, and joins the group hunting him with a very specific grudge.
Hiraikotsu is the boomerang, forged from the bones of demons her family killed. She throws it flat and it comes back, which takes the arm of somebody who has been training since childhood, and she carries it across her back the rest of the time. Her companion Kirara is a two-tailed cat who becomes a large fire-footed mount whenever the situation calls for one.
She is the most professional member of the party. Sango scouts, plans, uses poison powder and a concealed blade, and treats demon hunting as a trade with methods rather than as a series of duels. Her long argument with Miroku, who proposes to strangers and gets hit for it, runs the length of the series and resolves about as slowly as it possibly could.
Spelling SANGO
SANGO is five letters and the N in front of the G is the only place to slip, since the sound blurs in speech and SAGNO or SONGO can feel plausible for a moment. The word 珊瑚 means coral, which fits a household that names its children after hard beautiful things. The game wants the name alone, and Hiraikotsu is far too long for any row.
