Sukuna died a thousand years ago, in the golden age when sorcerers were common and he was still beyond all of them. His remains would not decay, so they were split into twenty fingers, wrapped, and hidden, each one still carrying enough of him to matter. Eat one and he wakes up inside you. Almost every host is consumed immediately.
Yuji Itadori is the exception, which makes him a container rather than a victim, and the two of them share a body on terms Sukuna finds insulting. The curse takes control only when he is given it, appears as a marked second face on his host's cheek, and cuts things apart at a distance with a technique named for a kitchen: Dismantle and Cleave.
The name comes out of Japanese history rather than Akutami's imagination. The Nihon Shoki records a Ryomen Sukuna in Hida province, a being with two faces, four arms and four legs, listed as an enemy of the court and remembered locally as something closer to a god. The manga keeps the four arms and the second face.
Spelling SUKUNA
SUKUNA is six letters, three of them U or A alternating with consonants. The trouble is that Japanese swallows the first vowel in speech, so it sounds close to skuna and the U goes missing when you type from memory. The row wants the given part of the name; Ryomen means both faces and is not in the answer.
