Zenitsu Agatsuma failed to learn five of the six forms of Thunder Breathing. His teacher, an old man he calls Gramps, kept him anyway, and Zenitsu drilled the first form until it stopped being a technique and became a reflex. Thunderclap and Flash is one step and one cut, delivered faster than the eye follows, and he can only do it while unconscious.
The sleeping is the point. Awake, he is convinced he is worthless and says so at volume to anyone nearby. Asleep, the panic switches off and what is left is a swordsman with an ear so sensitive he can hear the difference between a person and a demon in the dark, and read anxiety in a heartbeat. He knew Nezuko was safe before he ever saw her.
His hearing does most of his real work, including the moment he identifies who is inside a house by sound alone. Fans argued about him for years before the series made its case, and the Thunder Breathing sequences in ufotable's adaptation, gold on black at one frame per decision, settled most of the argument.
Spelling ZENITSU
ZENITSU is seven letters for four kana, and TSU is the culprit again: three letters, one sound, つ. It opens on a Z, which is rare enough to end the guessing early if you land it. Otakana wants the given name rather than Agatsuma, which contains the same TSU and would only double the trouble.
