Milim Nava has pink hair in two long tails, an outfit with an unlikely amount of exposed skin for someone who reads as a child, and enough destructive power to remove a landscape. She arrives at Rimuru's settlement expecting a fight, gets handed food instead, and reorganises her entire opinion of the situation around it.
The joke works because the threat never gets softened. Milim is a dragonoid, closer to the top of the setting's power chart than almost anyone, and the series is careful to show what she does when she is serious. She is also bored, lonely and several thousand years old with the emotional habits of a small child.
Fuse posted the original web novel on Shousetsuka ni Narou before it became a light novel in 2014, and Milim came through the move to television as one of the show's favourites. Her friendship with Rimuru turns into one of the setting's more consequential alliances, negotiated over a meal she was not expecting to be offered.
Spelling MILIM
MILIM has an L in it, which Japanese does not, since ミリム is Mirimu on the kana chart. English releases chose L for that middle consonant and kept the R sound out of the word entirely. Five letters, two I's, an M at each end, and that symmetry is the thing to notice: find the first M and you probably have the last one.
