Katsuki Bakugo grew up as the strongest child on his street with the loudest quirk in the room, and he spent that childhood telling Izuku Midoriya, who had no quirk at all, exactly what that made him. Then they both got into U.A. High. The series refuses to soften this. It puts the bully and his target in the same classroom and makes the reader sit there with them.
His fighting is genuinely brilliant, which is the part people miss behind the shouting. He reads a battlefield quickly, plans several moves ahead, and adjusts in mid-air while propelling himself around on his own blasts. He took first place in the entrance exam. His problem was never talent and never nerve. It was that he could not stand being helped, and being helped is most of what a hero course is.
That is why his growth carries the series: it happens in small moments rather than speeches, and he stays rude to everyone throughout, which is the correct choice. The change is in what he does. Kohei Horikoshi started the manga in Weekly Shonen Jump in 2014, and Bakugo has finished at or near the top of every character popularity poll it has run since.
Spelling BAKUGO
Six letters, BAKUGO, with a vowel deliberately missing. The family name ends on a long O, so a strict romanization gives Bakugou, or Bakugo with a bar over the final vowel. English publishing drops the mark exactly as it does for Tokyo, and the tiles want that short form. The given name Katsuki is not the answer. The BAKU half means explosion, which is on the nose.
