Hawks flies, and more usefully he detaches individual feathers and steers them at a distance, so a rescue that would cost another hero a minute costs him seconds. Speed is the whole brand. He is credited with the fastest response time of any professional in Japan, a statistic the public loves and which he treats as a mildly embarrassing hobby.
The loose, casual, faintly rude manner is doing work. Hawks was raised by the Hero Public Safety Commission from childhood and has no ordinary life to measure his own against. What he says he wants is a world peaceful enough that heroes run out of things to do and he can finally nap. Getting there involves taking on jobs nobody else in the top ten would go near.
Every feather he spends costs him lift, so he fights on a budget, trading flight for reach and slowing down as an engagement drags. Kohei Horikoshi introduced him well into the run and he placed high in the next character popularity poll. His real name is Keigo Takami, which the story keeps quiet for a long stretch, and for good reason.
Spelling HAWKS
Five letters, HAWKS, and it is the hero name; the real one, Keigo Takami, is not what the puzzle wants. This is plain English, a bird plural, so the only thing to get wrong is the W. HAKS and HAWK both feel right at speed and neither fills the row. The final S is part of the name rather than a plural you can drop.
