Becky arrives at Eden Academy expecting to be the most important person in the room and finds herself attached to a small pink-haired girl who is visibly making everything up as she goes. She becomes Anya's first real friend, mostly by deciding to and then not accepting any objection. She has a chauffeur, a maid and firm opinions on what commoners are like, none of them informed.
Her family builds weapons, which puts her at the same social altitude as the politicians' children Loid is trying to reach, and she is the only classmate who treats Anya as a person rather than a curiosity. She also finds Loid unremarkable at first sight and then develops a fierce crush on him, which is a running joke the series keeps escalating.
In a story where every adult is running an operation, Becky is one of the few characters with no secret at all. That is what makes her useful. The school scenes need somebody whose reactions are honest, and she supplies them at volume, usually while insulting someone.
Spelling BECKY
BECKY is five letters and Western, so there is no romanisation trap to unpick. The Japanese ベッキー doubles the K sound and stretches the final vowel, but English keeps neither, and CK covers the doubling in one pair of tiles. Y is the only vowel sound after the opening E, which is the part that catches guessers hunting for a second A or O in the row.
