Eden is where Ostania sends the children it expects to run the country. Entry means an exam, an interview with the whole family present, and a tolerance for being judged on your parents. Once inside, pupils collect Stella stars for excellence and Tonitrus bolts for misconduct. Eight stars make you an Imperial Scholar. Eight bolts get you expelled, and the two do not cancel out.
The reason any of this matters to a spy is the Imperial Scholars Mixer, a dinner where a scholar may bring a parent. Donovan Desmond, the politician Twilight has to reach, is a recluse who appears in public almost nowhere else, but he attends for his sons. So the mission becomes a school application, and the fate of a ceasefire rests on whether a six-year-old can stop getting into fights.
The school gives Spy x Family somewhere to put its comedy. Loid runs espionage tradecraft at a parents evening, Yor threatens a teacher, and Anya sits exams she can pass only by reading the marker's mind, which does not help when the marker has not marked yet.
Spelling EDEN
EDEN is four letters, an English word taken straight from the garden, so nothing is lost in translation. Two E's bracket the middle, at positions one and three, and the row alternates vowel and consonant the whole way. Short answers are hard because there is so little to grip, but a confirmed E in the opening slot narrows this one almost immediately.
