Bond Forger
A large white dog who sees roughly thirty seconds into the future and uses it almost entirely for snacks and rescue.

Bond came out of a state research programme that experimented on animals, which is where the precognition and the unusual size came from. He ends up in the hands of terrorists, then in a pet shop, and finally with the Forger family after Anya recognises what he can do and negotiates hard for him. She named him after the hero of her favourite spy cartoon, which he tolerates.
The partnership works because he cannot speak and she can read minds. He glimpses a future, she sees the glimpse, and the two of them try to bend the day away from it while the trained adults in the house remain unaware that anything is happening. It is the only genuine intelligence operation in the household that succeeds on the first attempt.
Endo uses him carefully. A dog who sees the future could resolve any plot, so most of what Bond foresees is small: a spilled drink, a bad grade, a moment where somebody trips. When the stakes rise he is muzzled by his own limits, and by the fact that nobody else knows to ask him.
Spelling BOND
BOND is four letters, an ordinary English word, and there is no trap in it whatsoever. The difficulty is length. Short rows give you very little to work from, and this one has a single vowel with a consonant cluster behind it, ND. Japanese writes it ボンド, bondo, with a vowel on the end that English does not want. Given name, if a dog has one.
