Shoto Todoroki has his mother's ice and his father's flame, which is exactly what his father arranged. Endeavor married for the quirk combination and raised the child who inherited both as a project aimed at surpassing All Might. Shoto's answer, for years, is to win with the ice alone. He is strong enough that this mostly works, and the cost shows in the frost he keeps having to shake off his own body.
The turn arrives during the sports festival, in a fight against a boy with no business being on his level who tells him the power is his own regardless of who handed it over. Half the series lives in that one image: a teenager standing in an arena deciding whether to be his father's plan or something else. Everything afterwards is him slowly working out how to belong to a family.
His face carries a scar his mother gave him, and the story declines to treat that as simple cruelty either. Bones builds nearly every shot of him around the vertical split, so he reads instantly from the back of a crowded panel, and Kohei Horikoshi gradually hands him more of the plot than a supporting classmate normally gets.
Spelling TODOROKI
Eight letters, TODOROKI, and this is the family name; the given name Shoto hides a long vowel of its own and is not the answer. Three O's sit at the second, fourth and sixth positions, which is the most useful pattern on the row, since one confirmed O places the other two. The word means a roar or a rumble, the sound of something enormous going past.
