Wendy Marvell
The youngest dragon slayer in the guild spends most fights healing everyone else, which is a rare job in this series.

Wendy Marvell arrives during the Oracion Seis arc as the only real member of a guild that turns out to be an illusion, and she joins Fairy Tail once it dissolves. She is twelve, the sky dragon slayer, and she was raised by a dragon called Grandeeney who vanished on the same day as Igneel and Metalicana. Her Exceed partner is Carla, who worries about her more or less continuously.
Sky magic does three things. It heals, which almost nobody else in Fairy Tail can manage. It strengthens: Vernier for speed, Arms for power, Armor for defence, cast on other people in the middle of a battle. And it attacks with wind, which is the part she is least comfortable using. The result is a dragon slayer built as support, inside a cast that otherwise solves problems by hitting them.
She is frightened of most things and does them anyway, which the series treats with more respect than it treats anybody's power level. Hiro Mashima ages her up temporarily during one arc and permanently after the seven-year time skip, and the shift in how the older members speak to her afterwards is one of the quieter threads running through the back half.
Spelling WENDY
WENDY is five letters and the W is the useful one, since it turns up in very few answers here and locks the row the moment it lands. Nothing in the Japanese ウェンディ will mislead you, because the name is English borrowed whole. The one thing to remember is that the game wants the given name and not Marvell, which has a doubled L problem of its own.
